Wet and Wild School Holiday Fun

What great fun we have had over the school holidays! Wet, wild, pirates, mermaids…

Thank you to all the children, parents and teens who have come to the library to take part in both our scheduled workshops and the self-guided crafts, trails and treasure hunts.

In case you missed out, during the first week we were “Singin’ in the Rain” at storytime sessions and created amazing underwater dioramas in our family/friend workshops.

The second week was more focused on Pirates and Mermaids. Several of our younger patrons came in dressed for the theme. Workshops in the second week were ocean mobiles for the younger children and a workshop on theatrical make-up for the older ones.

A big congratulations to our Treasure Hunt Competition winners Shikha and Jiwon. Also congratulations to Aiden and Dylan who received a prize for being the best dressed pirates to attend our Pirates and Mermaids day.

Look at our Flickr pictures to see some of the great creations and happy faces.

Mermaid fun in the holidays!

On the final day of the July school holiday program, the kids at storytime were treated to a special appearance by some mermaids! Some of our staff donned the colourful costumes, and with some clever choreography danced to ‘The Codfish Ball.’ Check out the video on our YouTube…
