Easter closure dates

The Library will be closed for the Easter break on the following dates:
Good Friday 6 April  
Easter Saturday 7 April
Easter Sunday 8 April
Easter Monday 9 April

The return chutes on the eastern wall adjacent to the carpark will be open for returns.
The Library reopens on Tuesday 10 April at 10am.

Did you know…About Pancake Day?

Did you know that Pancake day or Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the season of  Lent and has been celebrated since at least 1000AD?

The word shrove is the past-tense of the verb to shrive which means to obtain absolution for sins.

Pancakes are consumed as a way to use up the so-called rich food stuffs such as eggs, milk and sugar before the fast of Lent, during which plainer foods were traditionally consumed.

The period of Lent lasts for 40 days and culminates with the Easter celebration.

The Library will be closed for Easter and Anzac Day on the following dates:

Good Friday 22 April
Easter Saturday 23 April
Easter Sunday 24 April
Easter Monday 25 April
Anzac Day Tuesday 26 April

The return chutes on the Eastern wall near the Library carpark will be open for returns over the Easter break. The Library reopens on Wednesday 27 April at 10am. The staff of the City of Tea Tree Gully Library wish all our patrons a safe and happy Easter and Anzac Day!

Easter Egg Hunt

Looking for something free to do with the family in the lead up to Easter? Grab a trail sheet from the pillar near the Information Desk and look for the clues hidden around the library.

Every child who completes the trail receives an Easter Egg. The trail is on from Saturday 27 March to Thursday 1 April.

Will the Library be open over Easter?

No, the Library will be closed for the whole of the Easter long weekend, from Friday April 10 to Monday April 13, and reopening on Tuesday April 14. However, the after hours return chutes (adjacent to the car park) WILL be open, as some lucky staff members will be coming in to clear the chute room and check in items.
